Antibody Performance:

WB: CST extracellular Ret rabbit mAbs are more sensitive and specific than another company’s extracellular Ret antibody.

  • CST Ret Rabbit mAbs #14556 (left) and #14699 (middle-left) detect bands at the appropriate molecular weights for Ret (150, 170 kDa) when the extracellular portion is detected, with signals proportional to the relative protein expression levels in each cell type, demonstrating that these rabbit mAbs are specific for extracellular Ret and sensitive to endogenous protein levels.
  • As expected, CST Ret Rabbit mAbs #14556 and #14699 do not detect Ret in Ret-negative HeLa or Hep G2 cells, demonstrating that these rabbit mAbs are specific for Ret.
  • The Other Company Ret Antibody 1 (middle-right) at the manufacturer’s recommended dilution shows several bands at various molecular weights for all cell types, regardless of relative protein expression levels, suggesting that the Other Company Ret Antibody 1 is not specific for Ret or sensitive to endogenous protein levels.

  • CST Ret Rabbit mAb #14698 (left) detects bands at the appropriate molecular weights for Ret (170, 175 kDa) when the intracellular portion is detected, with signals proportional to the relative protein expression levels in each cell type and expected additional bands corresponding to breakdown products of the protein. This shows that this rabbit mAb is specific for intracellular Ret and sensitive to endogenous protein levels.
  • As expected, CST Ret Rabbit mAb #14698 does not detect Ret in Ret-negative HeLa or Hep G2 cells, supporting that this CST rabbit mAb is specific for Ret.
  • The Other Company Ret Rabbit Antibody 2 (middle) at the manufacturer’s recommended dilution shows several bands at various molecular weights for all cell types, including Ret-negative HeLa and Hep G2 cells, showing that the Other Company Ret Antibody 2 is not specific for Ret or sensitive to endogenous protein levels.
